Sustainability at Mangaone Cliffs Lodge & Farm
At Mangaone Cliffs Lodge, sustainability isn’t just a practice—it’s a way of life. Nestled in the heart of Hawke’s Bay, we are deeply committed to preserving the natural beauty of our land while offering guests an eco-conscious luxury experience. From the way we run our farm to how we manage the lodge, our goal is to minimize our impact on the environment and leave the landscape as pristine as we found it.
NZ FAP Plus Gold Standard
We supply premium lamb to Lumina Farms, adhering to ethical, environmentally friendly farming practices. By minimizing chemical use and practicing rotational grazing, we ensure our livestock thrives naturally, safeguarding the land for future generations. As a testament to our dedication, we are NZ FAP Plus Gold Standard registered, a higher-level voluntary sustainability standard focusing on People, Environment, and Biosecurity. Through this certification, we demonstrate and communicate sustainable farming practices to New Zealand and the world.
Eco-Friendly Lodge Operations
At the lodge, we embrace sustainable hospitality without sacrificing comfort. We incorporate energy-efficient systems, such as water conservation methods, to reduce our environmental footprint. In addition, we prioritise using locally sourced materials and produce, reducing our carbon footprint while supporting the Hawke’s Bay community.
Connecting Guests with Nature
We invite guests to engage with nature in meaningful ways. Whether it’s through our marked tracks or through hunting experiences that emphasise respect for wildlife, every activity at Mangaone Cliffs Lodge encourages a deeper connection to the environment. We believe in creating immersive, unforgettable experiences while nurturing a sense of responsibility toward the planet.
Our Commitment
From farm to lodge, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are constantly seeking new ways to improve our practices, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the beauty and bounty of Hawke’s Bay just as we do today. We invite you to be part of this journey—stay with us, explore responsibly, and leave with a renewed appreciation for the natural world.
