Mangaone Cliffs Lodge is the result of a journey built on resilience, passion, and a deep connection to nature. We started with a dream—a luxury glamping retreat nestled in the stunning Hawke’s Bay countryside, offering guests a unique and peaceful escape. For 3.5 years, our canopy tents and outdoor baths provided an unforgettable experience, immersing visitors in the beauty of the land.
However, in February 2023, Cyclone Gabrielle devastated our beloved glamping site. The storm, which wreaked havoc across Hawke’s Bay, left us heartbroken but determined to rebuild. Out of the destruction came a new vision—Mangaone Cliffs Lodge. Inspired by our love of hosting and the serenity of the landscape, we created a laid back lodge that combines the comforts of modern living with the adventure of the outdoors, offering guests a perfect balance between relaxation and exploration.
Today, Mangaone Cliffs Lodge stands as a testament to perseverance and our commitment to providing a peaceful, adventure-filled sanctuary. Whether you're here to relax, explore, or reconnect with nature, we’re excited to share this new chapter with you.

We love being a part of the Lumina Farms program with like minded farmers, and a fabulous team of people, following our products right through to working with our Chefs in finest restaurants.
Dave & Binks have been part of the Lumina Lamb program since it started in 2009. Our story began with an ambitious goal, to create the world’s most succulent Lamb. Lumina Lamb is free range, grass-fed, and finished for a minimum of 35 days on chicory and clover forage. Our precise genetic blend and carefully balance diet has imbued Lumina Lamb with unique health attributes – including high levels of Omega 3 and polyunsaturated fats, and an intramuscular target of 3-4.5%. Each lamb is EID tagged and can be traced back to our Lumina Farms. The program brings together a unique group of people – farmers, breeder, butchers, sales and marketing people – to deliver the world’s best lamb to the best chefs in the world.
